Penny & Raj Theory

Date of Birth: November 30, 2023

Sex: Female (Penny) & Male (Raj)

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: We are great with each other but have not lived with other cats
  • Dogs: Unknown, but we would need a calm, cat-savvy dog only
  • Kids: Unknown, we would likely do well with gentle, respectful kids

Rescue Story: We were originally adopted out as a bonded pair in 2024, however our family was moving out of the country and returned us to CCE. We are still looking for our furrever home, could it be you?

About Us: Hi! We’re Raj and Penny, a bonded brother-and-sister pair looking for our forever home together 💛

I’m Raj, the affectionate one. I’ll greet you at the door, rub against your legs, and follow you around for pets and attention. I’m very long (I love a big stretch), enjoy belly rubs, and take my toy-hunting duties seriously—once I catch something, it’s going straight to a secret hiding spot. I can be a little shy with big changes, but once I’m settled, I’m a calm, well-mannered guy who offers cuddles when you’ve earned them.

And I’m Penny, the shy but very sweet one. New people can be scary, but once I trust you, I’ll stick close—waiting outside doors, supervising bathroom visits, and curling up on your lap or chest. I love to be patted instead of pet (like a regular cat), and if you start that well I will become one cuddly girl! I’m curious, love standing on my back legs to sniff everything, and my favorite part of the day is special blanket time, where I get to cocoon myself in warmth.

We don’t have experience with dogs or kids—Penny prefers things calm, and Raj may be open with slow introductions. We might be shy at first, but give us a little time and patience and we promise to love you furr-ever (especially if tube treats are involved!).

We are currently eating a grain free kibble and need to remain on a scheduled diet to ensure we maintain or svelt figures.  Our foster mama is trying our wet food flavours to see if she can help us lose a little weight as well!

Vetting: We are spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and fully vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $250 for the purrfect pair!

Sasha Bellerive

Date of Birth: September 14, 2024

Sex: Female

Energy Levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: Yes, with a proper introduction I could do quite well with other cats
  • Dogs: Unknown, but with care and time I think we would be okay
  • Kids: I am a gentle girl and with gentle kids I think I think we would do famously

Rescue Story:  I was part of a local Edmonton Colony whose caretakers called CCE when they saw that I was pregnant. CCE volunteers swooped in and made sure that me and my new kittens were warm, fed, and safe. They have all headed off to new homes and now it’s finally my turn.

About Me: Hello, I’m Sasha! I have been a wild thing, I will make your heart sing, and I WILL make everything groovy.

When I came in, they didn’t know what to do with me; I was feisty, I was bold, I was unstoppable. But now, they know they have a cuddly, soft, and lovey girl who is ready for forever.

I came to CCE when they scooped up my entire colony, and I, very pregnant, experienced the wonders of soft beds and climate control for the first time. I had my kittens, taught them to love and cuddle, prepared them best I could for a life I could never have imagined, and sent them off into the world. The rescue saw them all to loving homes and now it’s just me.

I was in foster care with two of my brothers, I watched them melt from the tough, scrappy boys I knew growing up to gentle cuddle-bugs who found their place, taken in and treasured. I didn’t see that it was happening to me too. I didn’t feel the softness growing in my eyes, didn’t realize that I could lose myself in play, didn’t know how good it felt to lean into a scratch in *just* the right place. But CCE did.

I’m not the same girl I was when CCE saved us. I’m a chatty young lady, always ready for cuddles and kisses and I am NOT shy about asking for them. I’m a clever girl, I tilt my head *just so* to let you know I’m working through a problem. I have discovered BEDS, the perfect surface to melt into a purring puddle or to have a cheeky play. I like to sleep right beside my people, but I’m experimenting with *On* the people and *under* the covers.

I’m ready, I think, to find my forever. I would do well with other cats, or I could be your one and only. I do alright with dogs from my limited exposure, but a nice, slow introduction would be beneficial if you have one living with you. Kids I can handle, I was a mother once, perhaps I could even teach you a thing or two.

My health is good. I am on a veterinary urinary diet and I will need to stay on it to prevent urine crystals. I don’t like the Hills chicken wet food, it’s important that you know that; I spent a lot of time getting that across to my fosters and I shan’t do it again! My adoption fee has been discounted to reflect these extra costs.

To be loved is to be changed, and I am ready to be changed again if you are. Come meet me; I am ready to, finally, go home.

Vetting: I am spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Adoption Fee: $100 – my fee has been discounted!

Pepper & Peanut Lago

Date of Birth: July 3, 2018 (Pepper) & November 28, 2020 (Peanut)

Sex: Male (Pepper) & Female (Peanut)

Energy levels: Medium – we love to play but also have a chill side!

Good with:

  • Cats: Yes, would likely do well with proper introduction
  • Dogs: Would likely do well with proper introduction
  • Kids: Older children may be ok but no small kids, sorry!

Rescue Story: We were originally TNR’d by CCE several years ago. Our caretaker decided to no longer care for us and we were about to become barn cats but CCE was contacted first and we were both brought in to ensure we stayed indoors. We have been together for several years & are ready for the sweet, indoor life!

About Us:  Hi, I’m Pepper, and soon I’ll introduce you to my sister Peanut! We’ve been together for years—through thick and thin—and we’re not going anywhere without each other. Peanut needs me, she’s my little sister, my shadow, and I help her feel safe in this big, scary world.

I’m outgoing, affectionate, and a total lovebug. I live for attention. If I think you’ve been ignoring me too long (say, five minutes?), I’ll gently tap your hand, shoulder, or even climb up to remind you: it’s petting time. Sometimes I perch on shoulders like a parrot—yep, that’s my thing. I’m also known for making biscuits on your back when you’re relaxing. It’s my love language.

I’ll happily chase soft balls around the room or bunny-kick the heck out of a small stuffed toy, but when playtime’s done? I’m 100% your lap cat. I’m the definition of cuddly, affectionate, and demanding—in the cutest way, of course. Oh, and full disclosure? I have a bit of a catnip problem. I love the stuff. A lot. You’ve been warned.

I’m what they call an enthusiastic digger when it comes to the litter box, so I do best with one that has nice high sides to keep things tidy (I mean, I try my best, but my paws get a little carried away).

Now for my sister, Peanut… Peanut is the quiet type, but don’t let her shyness fool you. She has a soft, gentle spirit and just needs time to know she’s safe. When she feels secure (thanks to me being nearby), she’ll come up and politely ask for back rubs—her favorite. She’s not a lap cat, and she probably won’t be the first to greet guests. But if you’re patient and give her the calm, gentle space she craves, she’ll quietly work her way into your heart.

Peanut came into rescue in rough shape—her long fur was painfully matted, and she had to be shaved down. But even at the groomer, she was a total angel. Her fur is growing back beautifully now, but she’ll need regular brushing to keep her coat healthy and mat-free.

Our ideal home would be one Peanut would be comfortable in, since she is a bit more shy. We’re respectful of other cats, including seniors. We don’t currently live with dogs, but with proper introductions, we’d likely be okay. Just give us time and patience. Since small kids would scare Peanut, we would prefer a home with older, gentle kids or none at all, please.

As for food, we’re easy—Peanut and I both enjoy wet and dry food (BFF and Go! brand are our faves), but we’re not picky eaters.

If you’re looking for a perfect pair—with one loving, playful lap cat and one gentle soul who will quietly keep you company—we’re your cats. We balance each other out in the most beautiful way.

Vetting: We are neutered/spayed, dewormed, microchipped & fully vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $100 for this beautiful pair of panthers!

Rosie Dee

Date of Birth: May 31, 2017

Sex: Female

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: No, I would like to be the only cat in the house please
  • Dogs: No, I would like a home without dogs as well
  • Kids: Unknown, but older & cat savvy kids may be ok

Rescue Story: Rosie was surrendered by her owner after she could no longer care for or afford her. As Rosie had a difficult time adjusting from the move, she has been with CCE for several months while she became comfortable. Finally, Miss Rosie is ready for her furrever home!

About Me:  Hi, I’m Rosie and you may have heard I am a sensitive soul. I spent over 5 years in my first home before being abandoned, and have now been in my foster home for over a year. My journey has made me cautious, but alo incredibly loyal to the person I choose to trust.

I take my time to warm up, and I am not shy about setting boundaries. I will give a gentle growl when I don’t want to be touched – but you can’t say I’m not a clear communicator! I just ask for some patience and respect… and I promise I will pay it back once I’ve settled.

I am mostly an independent girl, but I love being near my person. I’ll sleep snuggled besides you at night, stretch out on your desk while you work from home and keep watch over the household from my favourite perch on top of the fridge.

My ideal home is a peaceful, pet-free home where I can open up more and truly thrive. I am not a fan of my  ‘foster brothers’ in my current home and would prefer to be the only pet (trust me, my foster mama has tried to get me to like the boys but it’s just not the life for me!).

I am currently eating kibble & wet food and am getting both daily. I would do well on a scheduled diet so I don’t gain too much weight.

If you’re someone who understands that good things take time, please fill out an application to come and meet me, I promise that I’ll be your best friend after some time 🙂

Vetting: I am spayed, dewormed, microchipped & fully vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $100
