Georgie Sniffington

Date of Birth: January 2020

Sex: Male

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: I’d prefer to be a solo king but would likely do ok with another kitty with proper introductions.
  • Dogs: I may do well with dogs after slow intros
  • Kids: Yes, I am good with gentle, respectful kids

Rescue Story: I was adopted out through EHS last year, unfortunately the adults in my home have developed severe allergies and now I need a new home. CCE is posting me as a courtesy to help find me the best home!

About Me:  Greetings, human. I’m Detective George Sniffington, feline investigator extraordinaire and owner of what may be the most impressive nose in the cat world. Preparing food downstairs? I’ll be there before you’ve even finished taking it out of the fridge. My specialty? Detecting chicken in any form, from any room, at any time!

At first glance, I may look like a rugged fellow with my blind eye, but underneath this tough exterior is a total sweetheart. Once I trust you, I absolutely adore affection. Rub my face, carry me like a baby, sling me over your shoulder while showering me with kisses—I’m happy with all of it! I especially enjoy enthusiastic butt scratches while standing at my scratching post. Give me really good pets and I might even start drooling a little. It’s embarrassing, but I just can’t help myself.

I won’t lie—I can be very shy when meeting new people or adjusting to a new home. Closets are my preferred safe spaces while I figure things out. I need a family that understands that trust takes time. But once you’ve earned it, you’ll have my whole heart. I’m incredibly loyal and love spending time with my people.

I’m a cat who thrives on routine. Around 10 PM every night, I’ll begin reminding everyone that bedtime is approaching. Between 10:30 and 11 PM, it’s time for my nightly mouse hunt! After I catch my toy prey, I expect praise and admiration for my excellent detective work. Recognition is important in my profession.

One of my favorite pastimes is sitting by a cracked-open window, sniffing all the exciting scents drifting in from outside. I also love having conversations with my humans. If you learn my signature “wa kowwwww” call and repeat it back to me, there’s a good chance I’ll come running to see you.

Because I’m sensitive and easily startled, I need a patient family willing to give me time to settle in. During periods of stress, I may have accidents outside the litter box while adjusting, despite being litter trained. Consistency, patience, and a calm environment help me feel secure.

I may do best as the only cat in the home. I previously lived with another cat and was initially very friendly, but was picked on by him. I have come around and am much less defensive than before, but would need slow introductions with another cat-friendly cat in a future home. I would do well with a gentle dog we think as well!

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, keep you on a strict bedtime schedule, and love you with his whole heart once he feels safe, then I just might be the detective for you.

Vetting: I am neutered, dewormed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. My right eye is scarred. Not to worry it does not bother me & the pressure and stain test were normal.

Adoption Fee: $100 – my fee is a donation to CCE

Byron & Perth Aussie

Date of Birth: February 7, 2026

Sex: Male (Byron) Female (Perth)

Energy levels: High- we are still young

Good with:

    • Cats: Yes, we do well with proper intros to other kitties!
    • Dogs: We would likely do well with proper intros
    • Kids: Yes, we are good with gentle, respectful kids

Rescue Story:  Our mama was surrendered to CCE with us as she could no longer care for our family and had too many kitties in her rental. CCE got us all the vet care we need and now we are ready for our furrever family.

About Us:  Hi! We’re Byron & Perth!

We’re a bonded brother-and-sister duo, and we’re each other’s biggest fans. We groom each other, wrestle together, and if one of us thinks the other is in trouble, we’re instantly side by side, ready to investigate. Life is just better together!

I’m Byron, your enthusiastic little alarm clock. I’ll happily announce when it’s time to start the day, although I usually learn your schedule pretty quickly. I get so excited for pets that I sometimes accidentally roll right onto my back before popping up to ask for more. I love chasing spring toys (with dramatic battle cries, of course!), making happy little trills as I zoom around the house, and conducting very important cardboard box inspections—which usually involve chewing on the corners.

I’m Perth, and I believe I should be included in absolutely everything you do. Whether you’re heading into another room, opening a closet, or taking a shower, I’ll be right there—or waiting outside to make sure you’re okay! If I can’t find you, I’ll call out with my funny little “L… L…” voice, then switch to my sweetest meow the moment you appear. I’m also a bit of a foodie: wet food is my favorite, kibble is acceptable with a topper, and any unattended human snacks are definitely worth investigating.

When it’s time to relax, we’ll happily join you. Sit on the couch for a few minutes and chances are we’ll both be in your lap, curled up beside you, or snoozing on your chest. Soft blankets are irresistible and quickly turn us into two purring, kneading cuddle bugs.

We’re affectionate, playful, endlessly entertaining, and happiest together. If you’re looking for twice the love, twice the laughs, and two best friends who can’t imagine life apart, we can’t wait to meet you!

Vetting: We are neutered/spayed, dewormed, microchipped and fully vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $250 for us together!

Toffee Crystallina

Date of Birth: March 24, 2024

Sex: Male

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: Yes, I’m good with other cats given the proper introduction
  • Dogs: Unknown, I probably would not enjoy being around a dog as I frighten easily
  • Kids: Yes, I am good with older, respectful kids

Rescue Story: I was hanging outside for several years in a North Edmonton community. A kind neighbour was able to trap me and get me indoors right as winter rolled in and with time and patience, I have blossomed into a wonderful kitty that is ready for my forever home!

About Me: Hello there. My name is Toffee Crystallina, and I am a tabby gentleman looking for a quiet place to call my own. Since I spent some time living outdoors, I can be a little shy and easily startled by loud noises, but I am what you might call a lovebug in training. I like to maintain a bit of independence, but once I decide it is cuddle time, I will happily claim your lap for a nap. I am a very well-behaved housemate who stays off the counters and uses my scratching posts exactly as intended, though I do have one very important job: I must rearrange the area rugs every single day to ensure the floor layout is just right. When I am not busy with my interior decorating or watching the birds through the window, you might hear my special trilling meow letting you know that I am ready for a snack.

I am an expert at solo play and short power naps, but I do appreciate a feline friend who can keep up with my morning zoomies. I would thrive in a calm home, like a condo or a smaller house, where I can build a strong bond with one or two patient people. I am not a big fan of being picked up, but I can absolutely be won over with a good meal. I have a very healthy appetite and will eat just about anything put in front of me, though I sometimes get a little too excited and drool when I am happy. Because I came from the outdoors, I may have a tendency to over eat, so I need a human who can help keep my portions managed.

If you are looking for a gentle, polite companion who just needs a little time to show his true colors, I think we would get along tremendously.

Vetting: I am neutered, dewormed, microchipped and partially vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $100 – my fee has been discounted!

Oswald Song

Date of Birth: September 5, 2020

Sex: Male

Energy Levels: Low/Medium

Good with:
Cats: Possibly, if they are cat friendly I may do well
Dogs:  Unknown, I’d likely be best in a dog-free home
Kids: Older kids may be ok, younger ones would be too unpredictable

Rescue Story: I was found at a rural property in Strathcona County. Since other cats have been abandoned here, it’s believed I was left intentionally. I was adopted out but was returned through no fault of my own. I am now ready for my furrever home!

About Me: Hi, I’m Ozzy, and I am excited to meet you!

When I first came into foster care, I was very scared but I slowly worked up the courage to explore. But through time and my trusted routine, I began to blossom into a loving and sweet guy.

Now, I’m deeply affectionate and will come out to greet anyone who comes around. While I may be a little shy at first, once I have met you, I will jump up beside you on the couch and give head rubs.

My favorite thing in the world is stretching out on you while you’re lying down. I will jump up on my own for snuggles and give sweet chin and shin head bumps. I have even started sleeping on the bed with my foster mama at nights… I know, I’m a big boy now!

Playtime before meals is part of my daily routine. I once feared the feather wand, but now I’ll leap and twist (a little clumsily!) to catch it. I also love ping pong balls, tunnels, catnip toys, and chasing games around my vertical scratching posts. I only scratch my trees — I’m a very polite gentleman.

I’m low-to-medium energy, litter box perfect, patient if meals run late, and not interested in human food. I can be picky — Fancy Feast pâté or grilled are my usual favorites, especially with a sprinkle of FortiFlora. I am also eating kibble, and you can leave a bowl out for me to snack on here and there.

While I have made so much progress in foster care, my ideal home is likely one with adults who can offer a quiet environment and consistent routine. I may enjoy a calm feline friend with the right match, but would also do great on my own!

Vetting: I am neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Adoption Fee: $100

Rikki Bellerive

Date of Birth: January 14, 2025

Sex: Female

Energy Levels: Medium

Good with:

Cats: Yes, I would prefer a slow intros but I like other cats very much!

Dogs: Unknown, I would need your help to make sure we go slow and safely

Kids: Unlikely, unless they are older & gentle with me.

Rescue Story: I was part of a north Edmonton colony whose caretakers called CCE when they saw some of the older females were pregnant. They scooped up the whole colony and I was pretty nervous, but CCE saw that I could be an inside-girl and took a chance on me. I am now looking for a patient, forever home!

About Me: Hello, my name is Rikki! I am a dangerously sweet girl with a nervous disposition.

Once I was a shrinking violet, now merely a striking wallflower. I won’t hear any nay saying about it, we’re all works in progress; own your flaws darlings, ‘lest they own you. Long story short, I’m shy and probably always will be. But that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to have fun!

I am an active and playful girl. I love to chase and pounce and I absolutely adore a string! I don’t mind playing by myself, but I would definitely enjoy a chance to play together. People make play-time so much more exciting! Left to my own devices I will happily play with a ball or a spring, and I usually make sure to collect them afterwards in my favorite corner.

I LOOOOOOVE being pet, and I have been known to hop up onto the bed for an evening cuddle session, but I can get a bit overwhelmed at times. Once I know you’re safe I promise I won’t run far. There’s a cuddlebug in me, I just know it, but I need your help in finding her.

I am from a colony so I’ve got plenty of cat experience and would love to have a playful friend in the home as long as they aren’t too pushy. I’m nervous by nature, so I have trouble standing up for myself if someone thinks they can push me around. I’m also a slow eater so I might need my bowl protected if your current cat might try to score a second helping. I could probably figure out life with a dog, with your support I know I can make it through anything. Respectful kids and I would get along famously.

I have no food restrictions and am not picky. A good quality wet and dry combo will work for me.

If you’re ready for a cat who will love you to the moon and back, I am ready to find my forever.

Vetting: I am spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Adoption Fee: $100 – my fee has been discounted to help me find my furever home!

Penny & Raj Theory

Date of Birth: November 30, 2023

Sex: Female (Penny) & Male (Raj)

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: We are great with each other but have not lived with other cats
  • Dogs: Unknown, but we would need a calm, cat-savvy dog only
  • Kids: Unknown, we would likely do well with gentle, respectful kids

Rescue Story: We were originally adopted out as a bonded pair in 2024, however our family was moving out of the country and returned us to CCE. We are still looking for our furrever home, could it be you?

About Us: Hi! We’re Raj and Penny, a bonded brother-and-sister pair looking for our forever home together 💛

I’m Raj, the affectionate one. I’ll greet you at the door, rub against your legs, and follow you around for pets and attention. I’m very long (I love a big stretch), enjoy belly rubs, and take my toy-hunting duties seriously—once I catch something, it’s going straight to a secret hiding spot. I can be a little shy with big changes, but once I’m settled, I’m a calm, well-mannered guy who offers cuddles when you’ve earned them.

And I’m Penny, the shy but very sweet one. New people can be scary, but once I trust you, I’ll stick close—waiting outside doors, supervising bathroom visits, and curling up on your lap or chest. I love to be patted instead of pet (like a regular cat), and if you start that well I will become one cuddly girl! I’m curious, love standing on my back legs to sniff everything, and my favorite part of the day is special blanket time, where I get to cocoon myself in warmth.

We don’t have experience with dogs or kids—Penny prefers things calm, and Raj may be open with slow introductions. We might be shy at first, but give us a little time and patience and we promise to love you furr-ever (especially if tube treats are involved!).

We are currently eating a grain free kibble and need to remain on a scheduled diet to ensure we maintain or svelt figures.  Our foster mama is trying our wet food flavours to see if she can help us lose a little weight as well!

Vetting: We are spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and fully vaccinated

Adoption Fee: $200 for the purrfect pair!

Sasha Bellerive

Date of Birth: September 14, 2024

Sex: Female

Energy Levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: Yes, with a proper introduction I do quite well with other cats
  • Dogs: Unknown, but with care and time I think we would be okay
  • Kids: I am a gentle girl and with gentle kids I think I think we would do famously

Rescue Story:  I was part of a local Edmonton Colony whose caretakers called CCE when they saw that I was pregnant. CCE volunteers swooped in and made sure that me and my new kittens were warm, fed, and safe. They have all headed off to new homes and now it’s finally my turn.

About Me: Hello, I’m Sasha! I have been a wild thing, I will make your heart sing, and I WILL make everything groovy.

When I came in, they didn’t know what to do with me; I was feisty, I was bold, I was unstoppable. But now, they know they have a cuddly, soft, and lovey girl who is ready for forever.

I came to CCE when they scooped up my entire colony, and I, very pregnant, experienced the wonders of soft beds and climate control for the first time. I had my kittens, taught them to love and cuddle, prepared them best I could for a life I could never have imagined, and sent them off into the world. The rescue saw them all to loving homes and now it’s just me.

I was in foster care with two of my brothers, I watched them melt from the tough, scrappy boys I knew growing up to gentle cuddle-bugs who found their place, taken in and treasured. I didn’t see that it was happening to me too. I didn’t feel the softness growing in my eyes, didn’t realize that I could lose myself in play, didn’t know how good it felt to lean into a scratch in *just* the right place. But CCE did.

I’m not the same girl I was when CCE saved us. I’m a chatty young lady, always ready for cuddles and kisses and I am NOT shy about asking for them. I’m a clever girl, I tilt my head *just so* to let you know I’m working through a problem. I have discovered BEDS, the perfect surface to melt into a purring puddle or to have a cheeky play. I like to sleep right beside my people, but I’m experimenting with *On* the people and *under* the covers.

I’m ready, I think, to find my forever. I would do well with other cats, or I could be your one and only. I do alright with dogs from my limited exposure, but a nice, slow introduction would be beneficial if you have one living with you. Kids I can handle, I was a mother once, perhaps I could even teach you a thing or two.

My health is good. I am on a veterinary urinary diet and I will need to stay on it to prevent urine crystals. I don’t like the Hills chicken wet food, it’s important that you know that; I spent a lot of time getting that across to my fosters and I shan’t do it again! My adoption fee has been discounted to reflect these extra costs.

To be loved is to be changed, and I am ready to be changed again if you are. Come meet me; I am ready to, finally, go home.

Vetting: I am spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Adoption Fee: $100 – my fee has been discounted!

Rosie Dee

Date of Birth: May 31, 2017

Sex: Female

Energy levels: Medium

Good with:

  • Cats: No, I would like to be the only cat in the house please
  • Dogs: No, I would like a home without dogs as well
  • Kids: Unknown, but older & cat savvy kids may be ok

Rescue Story: Rosie was surrendered by her owner after she could no longer care for or afford her. As Rosie had a difficult time adjusting from the move, she has been with CCE for several months while she became comfortable. Finally, Miss Rosie is ready for her furrever home!

About Me:  Hi, I’m Rosie and you may have heard I am a sensitive soul. I spent over 5 years in my first home before being abandoned, and have now been in my foster home for over a year. My journey has made me cautious, but alo incredibly loyal to the person I choose to trust.

I take my time to warm up, and I am not shy about setting boundaries. I will give a gentle growl when I don’t want to be touched – but you can’t say I’m not a clear communicator! I just ask for some patience and respect… and I promise I will pay it back once I’ve settled.

I am mostly an independent girl, but I love being near my person. I’ll sleep snuggled besides you at night, stretch out on your desk while you work from home and keep watch over the household from my favourite perch on top of the fridge.

My ideal home is a peaceful, pet-free home where I can open up more and truly thrive. I am not a fan of my  ‘foster brothers’ in my current home and would prefer to be the only pet (trust me, my foster mama has tried to get me to like the boys but it’s just not the life for me!).

I am currently eating kibble & wet food and am getting both daily. I would do well on a scheduled diet so I don’t gain too much weight.

If you’re someone who understands that good things take time, please fill out an application to come and meet me, I promise that I’ll be your best friend after some time 🙂

Vetting: I am spayed, dewormed, microchipped & fully vaccinated
