Adoption Fees & Policies

Every animal we bring in needs medical care, whether it’s a basic checkup and vaccines, or major surgeries. Since we deal with unowned & community cats almost every animal we take in needs to spayed or neutered and costs us a minimum of $250.

Although our partner vets give us a discount, we still have to pay for this medical care and this is where over 90% of our funds go to.

Adoption fees are one way that we can stay afloat and continue to save lives as well continue our TNR program.

Adoption Fees

Here’s what we charge for a spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated and dewormed animal. Amount of vaccines depend on length in care and age of animal.

Kittens (under 5 months): $250, $400 for two, $550 for 3
Adolescent cats (5 months – 1 year): $225, $350 for two
Adult cats (1-9 years): $200, two for $300
Seniors (9+ years): $150, two for $250

Barn cats: $40 each. We only adopt out semi-feral or feral cats as barn cats. Domestic cats & kittens are not a part of this program.

please note we do not adopt out solo kittens unless there is another young cat (6 years or younger) in the household. See why 2 kittens are better than 1 and we suggest adopting kittens in pairs

Our  adoption process typically takes 1-2 weeks to complete. Anything beyond 2 weeks (i.e. need for delay of adoption) is subject to a $25/week holding fee. All adoption fees are non-refundable.

Adoption Process

1. Fill out our online adoption application. The information you provide on our application will help us determine the best possible match for both you and the animal. Please answer all of the questions with as much detail as possible.

2. Our application screening team will review your application. If we believe it’s a possible match, we will be in touch with you within 3-5 days of your application. We aim to respond to applications as quickly as possible but sometimes we receive multiple applications for one animal and need to review the applications with the fosters. If your applying for a cat not yet available for adoption, the response time will likely also be longer as we wait to assess the cats personality and ensure they are fit for adoption.

3. You and your family will have a Meet ‘n’ Greet with the cat.  This is where you are able to meet the animal, as well as talk about the cats personality, energy level, and quirks with the foster. If after the meet both you and the foster believe it’s a match, we will proceed to the next step. We ask that you let us know within 24 hours of a meet if you would like to proceed with the adoption from here.

4. We will call references and conduct a virtual home check. Often, the home check is to assess the house for safety, offer tips on how to cat proof further and to discuss information on transition periods, introductions with other pets & diet. We want to ensure you are prepared to take on a new animal and answer any questions you may have!

5. We will send the adoption contract for your review and to be signed as well as get the adoption fee sent in to us via e-transfer. Then you and the foster can arrange a time to pick up your new family member!
