Rescue Story: I was living outdoors, hiding in backyards and alleys. A kind lady took me in and checked for a microchip and after no owners were found, CCE stepped in to help me find my furrever home!

I’m Salem!
Don’t let my spooky name fool you—I’m actually a very sweet girl who loves nothing more than getting cozy with my people. I can be a little shy at first, and it may take me some time to feel comfortable in a new home. But with a little patience, love, and reassurance, you’ll get to see my sweet personality shine. Once I trust you, I’m quite the cuddler and can be surprisingly chatty!
I do enjoy playing with my toy mouse and rolling around in catnip, but my favourite activities are definitely napping and birdwatching. You’ll often find me lounging in my cozy bed, keeping an eye on the birds outside. Of course, I’ll happily beckon you over to join me for some cuddles!
Despite being named Salem, I’m actually a bit of a scaredy cat. I can get spooked easily, and loud or unexpected noises can really frighten me—thunderstorms are definitely not my favourite! I’m also still a little nervous around men. It may take me some time to warm up, but with the right person and a little patience, I’m confident I can overcome those fears.
My ideal home would be calm, quiet, and filled with lots of love and cuddles. I may hide when new people come over, but once I’ve had a few minutes to gather my courage, I’ll usually come out to meet them. I could potentially live with another animal, but I would really prefer to be your one and only cat. I love having all the attention to myself!
And don’t worry—I’ll make sure you know when you’ve been gone too long. I’ll greet you at the door when you come home, ready to ask for snacks, cuddles, and maybe a little bit of attention.
Speaking of snacks, I LOVE wet food! Any kind, any flavour—I’m not picky when it comes to the good stuff. Dry food is okay, but I’m not exactly enthusiastic about it. Wet food is definitely the way to my heart!
