Date of Birth: September 5, 2020
Sex: Male
Energy Levels: Low/Medium
Good with:
Cats: Yes, as long as they are cat-friendly I should do well with a play mate and friend!
Dogs: Unknown, I’d likely be best in a dog-free home
Kids: Older kids may be ok, younger ones would be too unpredictable
Rescue Story: I was found at a rural property in Strathcona County. Since other cats have been abandoned here, it’s believed I was left intentionally. I was adopted out but was returned through no fault of my own. I am now ready for my furrever home!
About Me: Hi, I’m a soft-hearted, sensitive boy who just needed someone to show me the world is safe.
When I first came into foster care, I was very scared but I slowly worked up the courage to explore. Eye contact used to frighten me, so my foster human gave me space and stuck to a steady routine. That consistency helped me blossom.
Now I’m deeply affectionate — I just have my own language. I don’t like hands coming toward my face, but if you hold your hand low with the back facing me, I’ll happily walk right into it for pets. If you say “touch” before reaching for me, that helps too. I can still startle sometimes, but I’m very forgiving and settle quickly when things feel calm again.
My favorite thing in the world is stretching out on you while you’re lying down. That’s when I feel safest. After months of patience, I now jump up on my own for snuggles and give sweet chin and shin head bumps. I respond to slow blinks, will quietly chat once I know you, and I love keeping you company in the kitchen or bathroom.
Playtime before meals is part of my daily routine. I once feared the feather wand, but now I’ll leap and twist (a little clumsily!) to catch it. I also love ping pong balls, tunnels, catnip toys, and chasing games around my vertical scratching posts. I only scratch my trees — I’m a very polite gentleman.
I’m low-to-medium energy, litter box perfect, patient if meals run late, and not interested in human food. I can be picky — Fancy Feast pâté or grilled are my usual favorites, especially with a sprinkle of nutritional yeast or FortiFlora.
I’m shy with new people and need a few visits to feel brave. Sudden movements and loud homes aren’t for me, so I’d do best with experienced adults who can offer a quiet environment and consistent routine. I may enjoy a calm feline friend with the right match.
Vetting: I am neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.
Adoption Fee: $100
